Central Texas Catholic: Branding & Website Design for a Young Adult Ministry
Central Texas Catholic is an initiative from the Diocese of Austin’s Office of Young Adult Ministry, created to help Catholic young adults across Central Texas find connection and community. Whether someone is exploring their faith, starting a family, or simply looking for others who share their values, this platform exists to meet them where they are. With events, ministries, and opportunities to get involved, Central Texas Catholic makes it easy to plug in and grow—both spiritually and socially.

Project goals
Making It Easy for Young Adults to Connect
The Diocese of Austin spans a large geographic region, covering over a hundred parishes. One of the main goals of this project was to make it easier for young adults to discover relevant events, ministries, and resources in their local area. To do this, the Diocese divided its parishes into regions, each with its own representatives and community presence. Our task was to bring this structure to life online—creating an intuitive, inviting website where users could explore their regional page to find opportunities nearby.
In addition to organizing content by region, the Diocese wanted to establish a visual identity that would resonate with young adults. The brand needed to feel fresh and vibrant—something that felt both Catholic and contemporary. We collaborated to develop a brand identity that communicated warmth, energy, and a sense of belonging, setting the tone for the digital experience and encouraging engagement from a younger audience.

Designing a Brand That Speaks to Young Adults
Custom Logo
The Central Texas Catholic team wanted a main logo that could be easily adapted to create a unique variation for each region. They were drawn to the idea of a distinct icon or symbol—something simple yet meaningful that could tie everything back to Texas. The final design features a clean, diamond-shaped mark incorporating a star and a wave, symbolizing the state’s identity.
Color palette & typography
We crafted a color palette that captures a youthful, warm, and inviting atmosphere, drawing inspiration from the cozy charm of a camp-like environment. Soft earth tones and sun-washed hues create a sense of comfort and familiarity, while still feeling fresh and approachable. For typography, we introduced a custom typeface inspired by a simplified Western style—evoking a sense of place and heritage without feeling overly rustic.
interactive graphics
To make it easy for young adults to connect with events and ministries near them, we designed a custom SVG map that visually represents each of the Diocese’s regions. Visitors can click on their area to explore relevant opportunities and meet their regional representatives. This interactive element improves usability and makes the site feel approachable and personalized from the very first click.
These brand elements create a strong foundation that allows for easy variation while maintaining a strong, recognizable brand across the diocese.

A WordPress Website Built for Ease and Growth
For this project, we recommended WordPress as the platform for its power as a content management system (CMS). It offers the flexibility to grow, the structure to stay organized, and the ease-of-use that allows non-technical team members to update content without needing to touch code. Our approach to building the site focused on the following key areas:
Content Updates Made Simple
No coding needed—carousels and grid layouts make it easy to add events, reps, or ministries with just a few text fields and a click.
Flexible, Scalable Structure
We used Elementor page templates to build regional pages, so adding new regions or updating all existing ones requires changes in just one place (not 8+).
Optimized for Search & Speed
From image compression to SEO-friendly page structure, we built the site to load fast and show up well in search results—so more people can find and explore what’s happening.
The end result is a user-friendly, future-ready website that makes it easy to share, grow, and connect.
